It’s just that it’s so easy to answer that I’m absolutely stunned that you’re asking me that question in the first place. And obviously I’m not going to write an exhaustive list, because… seriously.

What issues do women face that men don’t face?

• FGM (I personally count FGM and male circumcision as different issues)
  
• Issues surrounding pregnancy, from abuses by medical staff to how pregnancy or even potential pregnancy is treated in the workplace
• Workplace biases still in place – forced, unfair dress codes that are specific to women as well as misogyny in the top boardrooms
• Pressure around motherhood
• Specific kinds of human trafficking
• Women not being punished fairly for crimes, etc

And before you start, what issues do men face that women don’t face?

• Circumcision
  
• Workplace biases including presumptions that men should be the breadwinner, unfair dress codes that are specific to men (full suits and ties compared to trousers, skirts or dresses etc, if you were unsure on that)
• Presumptions of paedophilia 
• Specific kinds of human trafficking
• No reproductive rights, etc

As for minority groups in general:

• Specific kinds of racism are different for each group and cannot be washed away as “just racism” – anti-black racism is different to antisemitism for example, but all are obviously bad
  
• The whole population doesn’t face homophobia, biphobia or transphobia, for instance

I’m not… I honestly don’t know how to have this conversation with you. 

I mean, are you honestly sitting there and happy to accept the idea that non-disabled people face the exact same issues that blind, paralysed, hard-of-hearing etc people face? That the world is exactly the same for people with and without autism? 

If this is genuinely too difficult for you to understand, then I sincerely apologise, because I am absolutely not equipped to be any more basic than I’m being. I really, truly do not know how to explain this more simply for you.

Smug and sneering? I just didn’t like how you dismissed everyone’s questions out of hands when asked what specifically you were talking about. It speaks volumes that you feel the need to speak with such hostility when I merely ask for clarification of your statement. I never even said I disagreed with you.

Female Genital Mutilation and Male Castration both seem like something that isn’t *caused* by peoples presence in Western Civilization, though. That seems like it’s caused by cultures and customs from other parts of the world that are brought over or retained, not Western Civ itself, and so it’s more of an issue of *stopping* other cultures influence that it is changing our own.

Pregnancy seems a fair point, as does some work-place issues, although I’d point out that women are far more likely to be hired than men are, especially in the STEM fields.

Human trafficking remains a huge issue, of course, and out of all of these I would consider it by far the most pressing.

I think people’s issues with this subject have to do with that, for the most part, we’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to complaining about discrimination. People may face issues, but very little of it comes from people actively discriminating against others for their membership in a demographic. People have the same equality of opportunity, no matter where they come from, and that’s a feat unique to Western Civilization.

Its just…..we spend an awful lot of time worrying about something we’ve mostly entirely eliminated. Especially when real issues exist, such as human trafficking.
